In english

Welcome! I´m glad that you have come to visit the virtual home of Sagaberran kennel. Unfortunately everything is only in finnish but hopefully this short introduction in english will help you.

My name is Marja Koskinen and I am the person behind prefix Sagaberran. I live in the northern part of Finland, in Rovaniemi. I received my kennelname in 2001 and I have signed Finnish Kennel Club´s breeder's code of ethics in 2002. First litter was born in 2004. As a breeder I still consider myself to be in the beginning of my path.

I have only few dogs at home and they live with me as beloved family members. My breeding is therefore more based on the dogs that I have placed elsewhere under breeding terms. Puppies are born and raised in the middle of everyday life and are well socialized when they leave for their new homes.

My aim is to breed sound, healthy dogs with good temperaments, dogs that have the potential for breed´s original work and also for different hobbies. I also strive to maintain the original type. Temperament, health and right kind of structure are important when making breeding decisions. Colour comes last. I try to avoid  inbreeding and too much line breeding. All bitches used in breeding are health examined and they are healthy.

Regarding my breeding I believe in honesty. This contains all the possible health problems and other negative things. I tell openly about my own dogs and about the dogs bred by me.

Here are few tips how to navigate my webpages:

Esittely - The introduction.

Koirani - Here you can find information about my dogs, those who live with me and those that are placed under breeding terms.

Uutiset - The latest news. (Updates can be found on the front page.)

Pennut - Puppy plans, expected and born litters and little bit about my breeding ethics.

Kasvatit - My breeding.

If you have questions, please don´t hesitate to contact or send me email. I speak also Swedish and English. Thank you for your visit and welcome soon again!
